Suqian Economic and Technological Development Zone was founded in November 1998 and upgraded into a national technological development zone in January 2013 with the approval of the State Council. It is located in the South of the new urban area of Suqian, 1.5 kilometers away from the municipal government. With an area of 80 square kilometers and a population of 150 thousand, it is the main highland of policy, capital, technique and talent, an important part of the urban area and a new modern town in the South. For a long time, the Zone, based on industries and enterprises in line with the development concept of constructing an optoelectronic industry base, branding food and beverage, making machinery and electronic in large scale and producing high-end textile and garment, accelerates the construction of “1+3” industrial system oriented by photoelectric industry with food industry, electromechanical industry and textile industry as the pillar industries. The all-round system of “ready-to-help and arranging-all one-stop service” has been adopted in the Zone. Efforts have been made to actively create a pro-business environment in which businessmen can settle down and prosper. Suqian Economic and Technological Development Zone, as one of “the Best Investment Environment Development Zones of China”, is attracting domestic and overseas businessmen with its favorable investment policies, superior supporting industries and good investment environment.

Up to now, there have been 480 settled projects in the Zone with the agreed capital of 80 billion RMB, including 140 projects with over 100 million RMB investment capital and 204 projects in operation, initially forming a development system “characterized by food and beverage, based on machinery and electronics, oriented by emerging industry and rooted in modern service”. Meanwhile, the Zone, learning from Suzhou Suqian Industrial Park and Suzhou Industrial Park according to the overall goal of doubling in two years and speeding up the fastest and based on the construction of a national development zone and IBZ (Integrated Bonded Zone), strives to build a national development zone with distinctive features and obvious advantages leading in Northern Jiangsu and competitive in Jiangsu Province.
