Zhangjiagang-Suyu Industrial Park

Zhangjiagang-Suyu Industrial Park, or ZSIP, is an important project for the governments of Zhangjiagang and Suyu to implement the strategic decisions of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government regarding regional coordinated development and South-North cooperation. On May 23, 2007, it was jointly approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Provincial Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations. It is one of the first co-development industrial parks in the province.

ZSIP is located in the east of Suyu District and started construction on June 28, 2007 with full authorization, independent site and operation. Approved by Suqian Municiple Government, The administrative committee of ZSIP is sub-county administration rank and the four branches are township administration rank. In December 2019, Safety and Environmental Protection center was set up. Mirroring the administrative system of Zhangjiagang Economic Development Zone, ZSIP set up an investment and development company to carry out the responsibilities of the construction and development of the park. The registered capital of the company is 217.5 million yuan provided by Zhangjiagang government and Suyu government in ratio of 4:1.1

The Party committees and governments of Zhangjiagang and Suyu attached great importance to the co-development industrial park. The two governments signed agreement of co-development industrial park cooperation at the end of 2006. Ever since a new agreement was signed every three years (2006, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019) to determine goals, actions and tasks. Annual exchange visits are carried out between Party committees and governments of Zhangjiagang and Suyu and ZSIP is always a main topic during the visits.

Currently the total planning area of the park is 5.35 square kilometers, among which developed area is 2.2 square kilometers. The accumulated investment in infrastructure is about 350 million yuan, and the supporting facilities have met the requirements of "eight access and site leveling".

For years, the park has ranked in front in the evaluation of the province's co-development parks.
