Shuyang Economic and Technological Development Zone

Shuyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in August 2001 and was approved as a provincial-level economic development zone by the provincial government in 2006. In November 2013, it was approved by the State Council as a national-level economic and technological development zone. It has a planned area of 61.82 square kilometers, with a built-up area of 45 square kilometers. It has formed two dominant industries of high-end textiles and mechanical and electrical equipment, and three emerging industries of electronic information, new energy materials, and health care. It has 122 high-tech enterprises, 95 R&D centers above the provincial level, 7 post-doctoral workstations, 44 graduate workstations, and has introduced more than 250 experts from the city-level talent plan. It is a provincial-level smart park, ecological park, intellectual property demonstration park, and national intellectual property pilot park. It has built two characteristic industry parks, including the provincial-level new energy and textile industry parks. In 2021, it was included in the "14th Five-Year Plan" county-level industrial transformation and upgrading demonstration zone by the National Development and Reform Commission.
